test day

today we had a test. The test was on pink paper. The test was really hard. which is why I got a 70... yikes. Although I really think taking the test right on the paper is much easier. I'm glad I can just write it on the test because when I don't I completely fail the test. i felt like the first few pages I messed up on but after that the other pages were easier. i think I only have a few more days left.sooo sooooo sooooo so so so so so so so so sosoo now I'm done

hellenistic times

today we learn about the hellenistic times and their culture we learned that they had a blend of cultures including greek Persian Indian and Egyptian. They were encouraged to marry in to different cultures so that they couldn't tell the difference between the races. They soon had so many races they made their own language to speak to each other.We learned about Alexandria's attractions which include Alexander the great coffin and 500,000 scrolls of papyrus. we learned about the science about how astronomy was founded we learned about 5 different important people including 1. Aristarchus- who thought the sun is 300 times bigger than the earth and thought all planets revolved around the sun 2.ptolemy- he thought that the earth was in the center and this was taught for the next 14 centuries 3. Eratosthenes- finally founded that the earth was round and that it was not center 4. Euclid- he created the book of geometry called book of elements 5.archimedes- founded value of pi al...

Alexander the great and his father Phillip

today we had class and we learned about Alexander the great and his father Phillip who wanted to continue to conquer all the land. He especially wanted to conquer Persia but died before he was age to because he was stabbed at his daughters wedding. Then his son Alexander decided to pronounce himself king at age 20 which was 3 years younger than when his dad was made king of Macedonia. Alexander took on his dads role and eventually conquered Persia which was huge because overtime they battled against Persia they were extremely outnumbered but they won anyways because of the tactics of war Alexander created as in the phalanx which is the long metals rods everywhere demonstrated in class by someones project. we learned a lot more but this is the basics.

last presentation

today we heard Ryan's project which was pretty good he talked a little about homer and his 2 books I mean there wasn't a lot of info but he did do it by himself. we all voted on the Homeric question which I think personally is true that he was alive. Then we learned about Amons fear of dogs and horses and cats and water. we looked at pictures of the cutest dogs and horses and watched snow fall. Really fun class because after we went home!!!!

The trade was from all the countries and was very diverse.  QUESTION FOUR :::::::::: 4.How did Euclid influence some of the developments in astronomy during the Hellenistic period? The geometry that he wrote about helped Eratosthenes and Aristarchus calculate the earth's size. QUESTION FIVE :::::::::::: 5. what did stoicism and epicureanism have in common? They both have the belief that people should live in peace.
today we heard Dylan's project about democracy and Dylan was very intelligent about his topic and he seemed to know a lot and he memorized a lot about his topic. we also heard nick riches Marcus and jimmies project about trirams which was good it was little confusing but oh well. we learned how this boat would have 170 people in it to row on the 3 levels of ours

presentations

today we had more presentations and we learned a lot about the story of Hercules and how he died after a very epic life story. We also learned a lot about accent greek civilization. I felt like mert rafay and grace really knew the most about their projects. they seemed to do a lot of research and put a lot of time in their projects. Grace amazed me once again with ho much she knew about the story! and the civilization project had so many details and different subjects and a lot of info on it!!! everyone did so good

project

today we presented our projects to the class and had some delicious food that my group made. I am very happy with how this project came along and I'm glad it is over now

Alexander the great

today we read pages 142-145 and learned all about the invasion of Greece and Persia and India all by one family line we also learned about how Alexander the great became the great and we also learned huis very own father was killed at his sisters weeding by a former guardsman who stabbed him. We were not told why he stabbed him which I kinda want to know but oh well.we also learned that Alexander adopted many cultures as he invaded and took over places for example he took Persian dress and accepted it and adopted that culture of dress.
